Enagas approves new organizational structure to focus on decarbonization

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. Spanish Enagas’ Board of Directors has approved a new organizational structure to develop the strategic plan that the company will present soon, Trend reports with reference to the company.

According to reports, the new organization meets the objective of focusing on energy transition and security of supply in Spain and Europe. It promotes innovation to support the decarbonization process. Renewable hydrogen will play a key role in achieving this goal.

This new structure allows the creation of an Executive Committee. It prepares the company for all the business challenges that may arise from the new European paradigm established by REpowerEU and the Fit for 55 program.

The new executive structure reflects a more agile approach to facilitating transformation. It focuses on the new opportunities the company is facing in the current context and has a clear commitment to decarbonization.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Enagas wants to use new energy solutions that allow the company to move to a more sustainable model.

For this, the work of Enagas revolves around three main axes: the development of renewable gases and their integration into existing gas infrastructures; the promotion of new uses of gas in sectors such as transport, particularly maritime; and energy efficiency as a means of optimizing resources and reducing polluting emissions.

Enagas also contributes to the decarbonization process through the open innovation and corporate entrepreneurship program, Enagás Emprende, which promotes start-ups that focus on improving efficiency, competitiveness and the sustainability of the energy sector.
